Halleraker to Lundin

  • Karl Inge Halleraker, Omega Project Systems Manager, will be Lundin's Pims coordinator for all its projects on the Norwegian shelf.
  • Roger Arnesen is responsible for consultant management in the southeastern region of Norway and will now also be managing the systems department previously headed by Halleraker.
  • Swedish Lundin is an oil operating company with a 40 percent share in the Avaldnes field, one of the largest Norwegian oil discoveries in recent years.
  • Lundin has shown alot of interest in Omega`s Pims products, and started using Omega products for the first time in 2008.
  • With activity on the rise, Lundin is among Omega's most strategic system clients.
  • Today Lundin is using several Pims modules, including Cost, Document, Risk and Completion Management.

Project Systems Manager in Oslo, Karl Inge Halleraker, received an offer from Lundin that he could not refuse.

“I was asked to assist Lundin in coordinating the Pims applications and contribute within Project Management. Lundin is a very exciting company with an appetite for Omega systems, and after several years as a Systems Manager it will be good getting back into the projects side of things,” says Halleraker, who starts at Lundin on 1 November.

A good opportunity for Omega

Pims is already well established at Lundin; Lundin has used several Pims modules in Project Management since 2008, and shows alot of interest in several other Omega products. Halleraker`s job will include coordinating all systems on Lundin`s many projects and expanding activity on the Norwegian shelf. An exciting and challenging job, which Halleraker suggests will offer many advantages for Omega.

“Lundin has extensive ongoing projects within which many systems and routines need to be implemented. This will definitely be very challenging, but it will also give Omega the opportunity to bring the different systems closer together, thereby establishing an industry standard”, Halleraker points out.

His position in Lundin includes assignments within Project Management, which will also strengthen Omega`s product development for clients.

A client's perspective

“I will get an even better understanding of which needs the client has and what challenges the projects have. It will ensure we are better positioned to deliver the products and functionalities Lundin needs”, he says.

Lundin`s request to have Halleraker on the team full time is, without a doubt, a great opportunity for Omega according to Svein Tore Haraldseid, Project System Manager in Omega.

“Based on their increasing use of Pims and growing workload, Lundin has become one of our most important and most strategic system clients. Both Karl Inge and Omega saw this as an interesting and important opportunity that we wanted to prioritize,” Haraldseid says.

Halleraker`s move to Lundin has resulted in some reorganization at Omega`s Oslo office. Consultants Manager in Oslo, Roger Arnesen, will take over Halleraker`s position as Systems Manager whilst retaining his existing position. He is looking forward to balancing his everyday assignments between consultants and systems.

“I have high expectations, and it will be both fun and challenging getting a better view of Omega and haveing a foot in the worlds of both systems and consultants. In the long term I hope to work 50/50, but I have to adjust this based on everyday needs within the different departments,” explains Arnesen.
