New and improved omega.no

Last week we published our new and improved omega.no website. Focused on a simple and attractive browsing experience, the new Omega website also gives us a powerful and flexible platform for the future.

While the new website may not appear drastically different from the previous iteration, it has been streamlined and optimised to give the users an easier way to learn more about Omega. Our two business areas, project consultants and products (project systems), have each been given a separate section to give a quick overview of our business.

Navigation and technology

The bottom menu and visual indicators in the main menu have been added to ease the navigation, and each section has a starting point in the section page. The new Omega website is built with performance in mind, aiming to give the visitors a snappy experience when clicking around.

Technically, more content is now cached on our servers as opposed to being requested from the database itself. For accessibility purposes, we have also made HTML and CSS standard compliance a priority.

Omega.no is still focusing on job opportunities, and has a live view of position categories and latest job listings. This is one example of tight integration between our databases and external websites. Our newly built web engine provides a number of new possibilities in building similar connections and interactions, something we also wish to extend to the users in the future.

InsideOmega and employee login

Many of you have been using the employee login to in the main menu to access TeamDocuments. This direct link to TeamDocuments is now located in the bottom right corner, with links to all the other Omega websites. You can also log in from InsideOmega, see the link in the top right corner. InsideOmega is our main site for employees, while omega.no aims to present the company to everyone outside Omega.
