Omega Singapore has doubled its management team. Manager Lasse Norevik is joined by his predecessor Kjell Åge Iversen in leading Omega towards a stronger footing in the Asian market.

Lasse Norevik started as General Manager of Omega Singapore in October.

Having led two of Omega’s international offices in the course of the last decade, Omega's previous Manager in Singapore, Kjell Åge Iversen, has returned to the consultant world on assignment for ConocoPhillips. His successor, Lasse Norevik, took charge of the Singapore office in October.

“Kjell Åge will continue to be a very important part of the management team in Singapore. Naturally, we both have ambitions of expansion and I believe Omega has an exciting future in this region. I have high expectations for our development here,“ says Norevik.

A strong team

Norevik has already built up a wealth of Omega experience on both sides of the Pacific. He began working at Omega PS in 2003 on assignment in Houston. Following his stint in Houston, Norevik had his first assignment in Asia in 2007 for ConocoPhillips in Beijing. Before taking over Omega's Singapore office, he has been working in project management for Statoil.

Omega in Singapore

  • Omega Singapore opened in 2007
  • Kjell Åge Iversen has been General Manager since 2008 but is now working on assignment for ConocoPhillips
  • Lasse Norevik took over as General Manager in October 2011
  • Iversen will remain involved in managing Omega Singapore
  • Ten consultants and four systems engineers are connected to Omega`s Singapore office
  • Omega's largest clients in the region include ConocoPhillips, Inpex Indonesia, Kongsberg Maritime, McDermott and Bluewater

“A large part of my job in Singapore will be to function as a link between our people in the region, both professionally, culturally and geographically. This is very important in a region where people are spread out and we have a small administration,” he points out.

Kjell Åge Iversen will continue to play a central role in the management of Singapore, even though Norevik is now General Manager. After almost 20 years in Omega, Iversen boasts a breadth of experience managing Omega offices abroad. He started out as a consultant for Omega in 1992, and headed the development of the Houston office from its opening in 2002 to 2008, before becoming General Manager for the Singapore office, which opened in 2007. Despite becoming a full-time consultant, Iversen has clear goals for Omega in Asia.

More clients

“At the same time as we continue to fulfil existing clients' requests, we also need to be prepared to meet the needs of new companies in the region. Our challenge is to secure new frame agreements with large companies in the region and position the right resources in the right place,” Iversen says.

Omega’s team in Singapore currently consists of ten consultants and four System Engineers. Omega’s largest clients in the region include ConocoPhillips, Inpex Indonesia, Kongsberg Maritime, McDermott and Bluewater. And Norevik is ready for expansion.

“We hope to expand in the provision of both systems and consultants. I have a background from plan and cost control, both areas I hope will become a bigger part of our business,” says Norevik.
