Christmas trip to Røros

Join our trip to Røros and experience streets beautifully decorated for Christmas, the sound of church bells, the smell of Christmas trees, and white surroundings adorned with Røros' famous wooden buildings.

Røros is a wonderful small town, which offers an experience that is similar to wandering around a living museum with authentic and traditional wooden buildings. There is also fantastic, locally-produced food to eat in the magical atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Røros offers a wide variety of activities and experiences all year round including guided tours, museums, and visits to Røros Church. The town also has a particularly good selection of winter activities such as dog sledding, ice fishing, experiences with reindeer, snowmobile safaris, and much more!

The Christmas market in Røros is well known and a popular destination for locals and tourists in every Advent period. The market has grown to include over 60 exhibitors, but still retains its cozy charm and a wonderful Christmas spirit.

We will be staying at Vertshuset Røros, which is located in the main street, where you can sleep and eat in gorgeous and historic surroundings. This will truly be a magical experience!

Christmas trip to Trondheim

Trondheim is Norway's third largest city. People have traveled to the Viking capital of Norway for centuries, but the region has also become a favorite city for "foodies".

One of the city's biggest attractions is the beautiful, medieval stone church: Nidaros Cathedral (Nidarosdomen). It is enshrined in the Constitution that "the King shall be crowned in Nidaros Cathedral". The signing ceremony of new monarchs is still held in Nidaros Cathedral.

In Trondheim you can also enjoy your dinner at one of the city's Michelin restaurants, enjoy the view from Tyholt tower, visit idyllic Bakklandet with small, colorful wooden houses in cozy cobbled streets, or go shopping in Midtbyen; there is always something to experience in Trondheim!

We will be staying at the Britannia Hotel, which reopened in all its glory in 2019 after being closed for renovations for three years. Britannia has several restaurants and bars, but is best known for "Speilsalen" which has been awarded a Michelin star, and was recently named Norway's best restaurant!

The Christmas market in Trondheim, located in the city center, is the ideal place for traditional Christmas shopping and offers a magical atmosphere. Every year, the market has over 90 different exhibitors, selling unique, handmade crafts and local food.
