Omega awarded frame agreement with Aibel

Omega has been awarded a three-year frame agreement with Aibel for the provision of personnel

The frame agreement covers the delivery of personnel in LCI and Document Control, Technical disciplines and HSE, MC and Commissioning, Project Management and Project Control.

“We are also excited that, this time, we have secured a framework agreement that gives us access to all requests for personnel in the first round; until now we have had to wait behind other organizations with frame agreements,” says Department Manager, Liv Hetland.

The agreement is valid until the end of 2017, with an option for three one-year extensions.

(L - R) Competence Assurance Manager,  Erlend Nedrelid; Department Managers, Liv Hetland  and  Anders Lunde; and  HSEQ Manager, Karina Hovden Stava.

“In addition to the frame agreement, we also supply personnel in HR and Administration, as a second-round supplier. Aibel has been one of our largest clients for many years, and our earlier deliveries were one of the areas that was measured as we competed for the frame agreements. We were also evaluated regarding rate levels, delivery capacity, and organization and systems,” says Hetland.

Local commitment

The agreement, which focuses on local delivery means that Omega will provide personnel to Aibel locations in Haugesund, Stavanger, Bergen, Asker, Kristiansund/Stjørdal and Harstad/Hammerfest .

“In most of these places Omega even has local offices and it will be natural to allow our staff in these various offices to take primary responsibility for each location. We will also focus most on local personnel when we offer our candidates,” says Hetland.

Hopes for Johan Sverdrup

We are very excited that Aibel has secured several major contracts recently, including the Johan Sverdrup project; it is our hope that this will be positive for us as well. Initially, this may mean an increase in opportunities for our Oslo office, given that the project is managed from Aibel’s Asker office. Once assembly work begins in Haugesund, our main office in Ølensvåg will lead the way,” says Liv Hetland, ready to find the right people to meet Aibel’s needs.

Sverdrup to Aibel

In February, Aibel was awarded the contract for engineering, procurement and construction of the drilling platform for the Johan Sverdrup field.

“The contract, which will be controlled from the company's Oslo office, offers a variety of interesting assignments, in the areas of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and is likely to involve over 3000 employees,” according to a press release from Aibel.
