"This year we are looking forward to an exciting user conference; for the first time we will gather users from different sectors on our conference. Here, participants from the sectors oil and gas, infrastructure, and construction will meet, and we will focus on the products HMSREG, Pims 365 and Pims R4,” explains general manager for Omega’s software solutions, Svein Tore Haraldseid.

The conference takes place on September 17-18, atThon Hotel Arena in Lillestrøm, Oslo (Norway). Approximately 100-150 participants are estimated to come from existing and new clients, different sectors and countries. A selection of the client representatives will present their experiences using Pims in their project environment, and the participants can look forward to presentations by Chevron, Statsbygg and OMV Norway among others. There will in addition be workshops where experiences are shared across projects and sectors.

"The participants will of course get to focus on the areas that are most relevant for their business. We have therefore planned some common content and many workshops on the different modules. There will also be ample time to network and exchange experiences,” says Haraldseid.

Digitization for the construction sector

During this years’ Pims User Conference, the newest additions to Omega’s Pims products, Pims 365 and HMSREG will be presented. Both are developed for the construction sector.

"We are excited to show our new innovations within Pims 365 and HMSREG, and think that these can be relevant also for clients within oil and gas," says Haraldseid, and points out that it will also be useful for the construction sector to hear about the experiences from big oil and gas projects.

The project management tool Pims was developed for the oil and gas sector over 20 years ago, and was first taken in use by Equinor. Later the product has been used on several larger projects by clients such as Chevron, Lundin, Maersk and BP. In 2017, the system was adapted to meet the construction sector’s increasing need for digital project support solutions, and was taken in use by Statsbygg. The information system HMSREG was at the same time developed for Oslo Municipality to help combat work-related crime and social dumping. Later HMSREG has been developed to meet the needs of both contractor and construction manager.
