Representatives from state oil company in Nigeria, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation are currently in Kristiansund learning more about the software for HSE utilized by the company.

The software, called Pims HSE was first developed by Kristiansund residents in the company Omniware. Through the IT company Omega, the product has been further developed and is now mainly used by large and small oil and gas companies around the world.

«Not many people in Kristiansund know about us or how big we are. One of the reasons for this is the international focus we had when we first started in 1995. It is not until now, after the Omega acquisition in 2012 that we have started working towards the Norwegian shelf,” says Arnt Mundal, Department Manager for Omega Kristiansund.

One of the guests from Africa is an old acquaintance of the company. Rabui Suleiman has used the software from Omniware for a long time. Now, Sulemain is General Manager Group HSE, in a company equivalent to Statoil, and wants to implement the system there.

«This illustrates how we work: We do not spend much money on marketing. Our client portfolio is expanded through good company references and through individuals who want to take our software with them when they change jobs,” says Mundal.

New offices

The Nigerians are visiting Kristiansund for two weeks. During that period they will learn how the system works, but will want to make their own mark on the product.

“The software is adaptable and it is therefore important to be close to the clients. Through close dialogue we can find the solution that suits their every day needs. We are continuously expanding our knowledge on what the market wants”.

Today, Omega has offices in Kristiansund city center, but will move into Vikangården with Aker Solutions and Statoil shortly. “We are looking forward to that. We will be located in in the midst of our business sector,” says Mundal.
