Omega joins the healthcare sector

Omega’s push toward new segments of the market has paid off; a newly-signed frame agreement regarding the delivery of consultancy services to Helse Vest IKT and Nasjonal IKT is strengthening the company’s new role as a supplier in the healthcare sector.

Anita Kraft Sahlgaard, Kjetil Løvaas and Erlend Nedrelid have had responsibility for securing the frame agreement with Helse Vest IKT and Nasjonal IKT. Together with the entire Omega company, they hope to provide candidates, within all requested disciplines, to the healthcare agencies.

The agreement, which will take force in July 2015, coversfor a two-year period with the option of extending for an additional year.

"The frame agreement ensures us access to requests for all kinds of ICT personnel for Helse Vest and Nasjonal IKT and it is now up to us to present the right candidates when the requests arrive," says Department Manager, Kjetil Løvaas, who, together with Anita Kraft Sahlgaard and Erlend Nedrelid, has managed the bid that lead to the frame agreement.

Nine disciplines

The assignment requests from Helse Vest IKT and Nasjonal IKT cover nine different areas of competency; program and project management, test management, architecture, innovation, integration, operation and administration, ICT security, processes, change processes and process improvement, and strategy.

"With the whole Omega company backing us, we will be able to deliver personnel within all the required areas of competency," says Løvaas.

Helse Vest IKT has, according to their websites, responsibility for projects that amount in total to NOK 260 million annually; the organization currently leads over 25 different programs and projects.

Helse Vest IKT delivers complete ICT services to the special services unit in Helse Vest.

Pims to a pharmaceutical giant

Earlier this year, Omega's Systems Department was awarded an assignment with one of the world’s leading pharmacy companies, Novo Nordisk, which will use Pims as their project management system to control cost and contract work on their many construction projects worldwide.

Nasjonal IKT

  • Nasjonal IKT HF was established as an independent healthcare business on January 1, 2014.
  • Nasjonal IKT is the main platform for information and communications technologies collaboration in the special services within the health care sector (between the different health care facilities and the regional health care facilities), the municipal health care system, the Ministry of Health and Care Services, the Norwegian Directorate of Health, and Norsk Helsenett.
  • Nasjonal IKT HF’s main office is located in Bergen.

"Never before have we delivered Pims to clients within this market and the agreement is first and foremost a milestone as it represents a whole new client segment for us. It is very exciting that our first step in the pharmacy business is with such a major actor," said the department manager for system development, Roger Arnesen when the agreement was signed.

Catering to several sectors

Omega’s frame agreement with Helse Vest IKT and Nasjonal IKT is a new step into the healthcare sector. Løvaas anticipates great results in the wake of this contract and expects many requests from a client with great demands within ICT services.

"The healthcare sector is only one of several new areas where we hope to deliver personnel. We are offering our services to several sectors and are hoping for new contracts in the near future," says an eager Løvaas, without mentioning who the potential new clients may be.

"I want to encourage potential candidates for ICT jobs to contact us if they are interested in assignments within the oil and gas industry, healthcare industry, or other sectors," says Løvaas, who of course welcomes new ICT clients to Omega.
