Omega Houston hits 100

Omega Houston continues to grow. Over the past year, the number of consultants has more than doubled. Recently, Omega’s team in Houston reached 100 employees for the first time.

Leader of the consulting business, Mark Brand (left) and President of Omega Project Solutions in Houston are very positive about the company's prospects.

“In 2014, we were ranked as one of Houston's fastest growing privately held companies, and this positive trend has continued into the current year,” says President of Omega Project Solutions in Houston, Øyvind Vik.

“With the leader of our consulting business, Mark Brand, and Recruitment Manager, Lori Flores, leading the way, we now have around 90 consultants, all of whom are on assignments for our clients. Also, on the system side of the business, we have grown steadily in recent years,” says Vik.

Their client list numbers approximately 40 companies across the consulting and system services, the largest of which is Phillips 66, which currently employs over 60 consultants from Omega. Other companies on the list include ConocoPhillips, Noble Energy, Petrobras, Cobalt International Energy and Energy XXI.

Optimism for the future

Omega in Houston was founded in 2002, around the same time that Omega in Norway rounded 100 employees for the first time; it had taken the parent company eleven years to achieve this. Omega in Houston has spent a few additional years passing the same milestone. Regardless of further comparisons, it is clear that Houston is experiencing a positive trend.

“I'm very positive about our prospects over here, even though investment levels in many oil companies are currently quite reduced. We are a solid company with a fantastic team and a unique portfolio of clients, products and services, which means we have many legs to stand on. The energy sector is, and will remain, the most important industry for us, and we are well-positioned for growth in the future,” says Vik.

Most Of Omega Project Solutions’s employees are Americans, but nations such as England, Australia, Venezuela, Peru and China are also represented, in addition to a handful of Norwegians.

“About one third of the consultants work in Project Management, one third in quality assurance and safety, and the rest are distributed across document management, IT management, systems development and other disciplines,” says Vik.
