Omega launches marine services in the UK market

With its new UK subsidiary, Omega expands its areas of expertise and can now offer engineering services within marine engineering from offices in London and Aberdeen. The expansion will also provide Omega consultants with assignments in a new market.

As the new majority shareholder in British organisation, Geanti, Omega widens it service areas to include the disciplines of naval architecture and marine engineering. With the new UK subsidiary onboard, Omega will also gain a foothold in a new and exciting market, suggests Omega’s CEO, Petter Aalvik.

“We have wanted a stronger presence in the UK for some time now. Our engagement with Geanti provides us with the opportunity to work with a team of talented Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. As the company is based in both London and Aberdeen, this cooperation promotes a lot of interesting opportunities for Omega,” says Aalvik.

The UK-based team bring with them many years’ experience from consultancy and advisory services in marine disciplines for a number of international clients. The employees joined forces in one company when they established Geanti in January 2015. Geanti and Omega share common ground and complement each other’s business models.

“Organisational culture and entrepreneurial ideas have been very important for both Omega and Geanti. Both companies have built their businesses on a strong commitment to clients, high quality and a high international industry standards. It was immediately apparent that Omega was the right company for us to evolve with,” according with Geanti partner, Daniel Sim.
