Ingeborg Margrete Johansen (29)

Location: Ølensvåg.

Position: Pims consultant.

Background: Bachelor from the University in South-eastern Norway (Bø).

Why work in Omega? Omega has a good and including work environment. They are a future-oriented and soild company, that I am glad to be a part of.

How did you hear about Omega? I am from the region, so I have been following Omega’s development through the years.

Oda Marie Skjølingstad (19)

Location: Ølensvåg.

Position: Information and communications technology (ICT) trainee.

Background: Vocational high school for two years.

Why work in Omega? I got the opportunity to change company for my trainee period, and Omega seemed to be a good and knowledgeable place to work. I enjoy working here and wish that I had taken my entire trainee period here.

How did you hear about Omega? I cannot remember the first time I heard about Omega, but I have driven past the Headquarters many times and been curious about what they work with. I got the opportunity via my training office to start here.

Øyvind Berge (26)

Location: Bergen.

Position: System engineer, Omega PS

Background: Completed bachelor’s degree within information science at the University of Bergen (UiB) and will soon submit my master’s thesis.

Why work in Omega? I got a very good impression of Omega and the employees through conversations and interviews, and I get to work with technologies that are relevant to my studies, in addition to learning new areas.

How did you hear about Omega? A friend of mine at the university was at a job interview at Omega, and they asked if he knew others that would be interested, and he referred them to me.

Vebjørn Ekornrud (24)

Location: Ølensvåg.

Position: System engineer.

Background: Bachelor’s degree within information science at the University of Bergen (UiB).

Why work in Omega? It seems to be a good work place with a good work environment. I am from the region and have only heard positive feedback about Omega, so when I got the opportunity to work here, I had to accept.

How did you hear about Omega? A bit unsure, I have always known about Omega. I got a lot of relevant information from Omega’s websites.

Frederic Dumont (37)

Location: Oslo.

Position: Developer, Omega PS.

Background: Engineer with master’s degree from NTNU and studied industrial mathematics.

Why work in Omega? I wanted to work with 3D and now get to work with Omega’s BIM module in the project management tool Pims 365.

How did you hear about Omega? I found Omega through an online advert.

Christian Mol (26)

Location: Lysaker, Oslo.

Position: System developer.

Background: Bachelor’s degree within dynamic web design at the university in South-Eastern Norway, Campus Ringerike.

Why work in Omega? The opportunity to work directly with the client, develop what they need and see it be taken in use is very rewarding. In addition, it seemed like a nice place to work with a good work environment.

How did you hear about Omega? Omega found me via an acquaintance.

Elina Berge Nilsen (26)

Location: Oslo.

Position: Support for HMSREG.

Background: MBA in Economics from Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

Why work in Omega? I started in Omega for approximately one year ago, and the learning curve has been steep. Early on I got responsibility and trust and was challenged in many areas. I was very well accepted in Omega and have learned a lot during my first year. A job in Omega offers exciting and challenging work tasks, a good work environment with engaged and positive colleagues. We work close in teams with persons that have different backgrounds which is both educational and social. We get to take part in interesting discussions and decisions, that create engagement and ownership to what we are working with.

How did you hear about Omega? I am originally from Ølen, so I have known about Omega for many years. In addition, two of my uncles work in the company.

Henrik Vedal (24)

LocationØlensvåg in the training period, then Stavanger.

Position: Systemdeveloper.

Background: Bachelor degree within multimedia technology and design from the Univeristy in Agder.

Why work in Omega? I was looking for a job in a company where I could utilize the knowledge I have gained through my studies, and also wanted to work within my field of interest. When I got in contact with Omega, I understood that this was a good match. I am greateful to get th eopportunity to be a part of the team.

How did you hear about Omega? I came in contact with Omega through the career day at the University in Agder.

Simen Bjørkedal Jensen (25)

Location: Ølensvåg, but have also been at the branch office in Bergen.

Position: System engineer.

Background: I worked a few years with trading and used math and learned a great deal of fundamental technical techniques. No formal education.

Why work in Omega? I got a taste of how this type of job is in my previous position, and I was eager to change company if I got an opportunity. Omega seemed like an exciting company with a lot of room for development.

How did you hear about Omega? I heard about Omega through an acquaintance that works here.

Per-Niklas Longberg (27)

Location: I work at Omega’s branch office in Bergen but have been a lot to Ølensvåg recently for training.

Position: System developer and consultant.

Background: Coming directly from studies at the University of Bergen where I wrote my master’s thesis within information science. Our thesis was exploring a user-friendly system for health personnel that would by machine learning predict a result for the viability of hip implants in patients that get a total replacement of the hip. I have also worked within sales for seven years in Telenorbutikken, so the transfer to Omega has been a big and great change!

Why work in Omega? The impression I got of the company during my first trip to Ølensvåg was good; it seemed like a serious company that focused on creating good products and good people.

How did you hear about Omega? I first heard about Omega from my aunt that previously worked here. I have also been in contact with a fellow student that knew about Omega and studied at The University in Bergen (UiB) at the same time as me, and when he only had positive things to say about the company, I felt that I just had to apply.

Jon Erik Tengesdal (27)

Location: Stavanger.

Position: System engineer.

Background: After high school I took a certificate of apprenticeship and worked as a ROV pilot in Oceaneering AS for 6 years. As many others I was affected by the oil crisis and was because of this temporarily laid off the fall of 2015 and fired the spring of 2016. As I noticed the negative trend within the oil industry, I started to study the fall of 2015. I took a bachelor degree as data engineer at the University of Stavanger.

Why work in Omega? I thought Omega seemed like a good company with a lot of great people, good working environment and exciting work tasks.

How did you hear about Omega? I heard about Omega during my last year in high school at Lundeneset in Ølensvåg. Towards the end of my bachelor’s degree I started looking for jobs and saw an advert from Omega online where they were looking for people. I applied and got the job.

Janne Helen Lund (40)

Location: Oslo.

Position: Customer adviser for HMSREG.

Background: MBA in economics, have previously been working with sales, market and economics.

Why work in Omega? Omega is putting effort into building their products, and we get to influence the processes and systems that we work with. We work in a team and through this we both get support and the ability to work independently.

How did you hear about Omega? I got a tip about Omega needing people to HMSREG and sent my CV.

Sondre Johannessen (40)

Location: I work at one of Equinor's locations.

Position: System engineer.

Background: Bachelor’s degree within information technology. My previous employer, Evry ASA, where I worked for 9 years. Through the years in Evry I worked with different tasks and technologies. The recent years before I started in Omega I worked with Identity & Access Management. Mainly with systems from Microfocus.

Why work in Omega? I wanted new opportunities and have only heard good things about Omega.

How did you hear about Omega? I heard about Omega many years ago from my father, but at that point I had very exciting tasks at my previous employer.

Cecilie Høvring (25)

Location: Ølensvåg.

Position: System developer.

Background: Vocational school via Ecademy and am halfway through online studies (bachelor) at the University in Tromsø (UiT) (data technique, engineer).

Why work in Omega? Exciting and varied work tasks, and a great work environment.

How did you hear about Omega? I had previously heard about Omega but not specifically what they do there. I found this out when I saw a recruiting advert online.

Erling Bjarte Rullestad (29)

Location: Ølensvåg.

Position: Systemdeveloper.

Background: Bachelor’s degree in information systems.

Why work in Omega? Exciting work place with many exciting clients and tasks.

How did you hear about Omega? I know several people who have worked here.

Peter Emil Anderssen (27)

Location: Ølensvåg.

Position: System developer.

Background: Cognitive science at the University in Bergen (UiB) and have played around with code in my free time since I was a kid. I have also been a gymnastic trainer for the past 14 years.

Why work in Omega? It looked like a cool company seen from the outside, and I have now also found that it is cool on the inside too. There is good communication internally and we get real challenges from our first day.

How did you hear about Omega? I found an advert on Kode24.no and applied.

Ådne Aarthun Jacobsen (23)

Location: Stavanger.

Position: System engineer.

Background: Bachelor’s degree in IT and information systems at the University in Agder (UiA).

Why work in Omega? As a newly graduated developer it is great to get the opportunity to contribute on larger project at exciting, international clients. I get to work with experienced system engineers and develop my skills. With Omega’s Advantage program I can also utilize the company’s holiday houses both in Norway and abroad in addition to participating on teambuilding’s such as travels, concerts and more.

How did you hear about Omega? I heard about Omega through the staffing agency People4you, which sent me on assignment for Omega who later offered me a position.

Sebastian Vatland Sonesen (21)

Location: Stavanger.

Position: System developer. Working part time now only one day a week in addition to studying. Will start full-time in the summer after completing my bachelor’s degree.

Background: Born and raised in Stavanger. Now working on completing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Stavanger (UiS). Also had a semester abroad, studying in San Diego.

Why work in Omega? I thought Omega would be a great place to start my career within system development. I want to absorb as much experience and knowledge as possible and see Omega as a good place to do exactly this. With offices in Stavanger I also got the opportunity to work part time as I study.

How did you hear about Omega? I heard about Omega through the staffing company, People4you, the plan was originally to find a part time job that I could do when studying, but when Omega offered me a full-time position, I found great interest in this.

Tor Haakon Andersen (21)

Location: Stavanger.

Position: System developer working part time. Now I work one day a week.

Background: I still study at the University in Stavanger and might be staying at the university for a couple of years. I am currently studying data engineering.

Why work in Omega? I accepted the job offer because I got an impression of a good atmosphere in the company, in addition they develop exciting projects here. The job is also very relevant to my current studies. The job I am working on now is mostly within web and database, which was the first areas that I learned when learning to program, and I have always liked working with this.

How did you hear about Omega? I heard about Omega from a good friend that was offered a position this previous summer after completing his bachelor’s degree.

Astri Emilie Ljosnes (28)

Location: Ølensvåg.

Position: Administrative support for management in Omega PS.

Background: The past 12 years I have experience from areas such as office/admin functions, quality, HSE, and HR work. Mainly from Westcon Power & Automation, Vassnes Solutions and as a self-employed consultant. My educational background is within HSE and quality from KIWA Technological Institute in Oslo.

Why work in Omega? The company is an attractive workplace with a good reputation. I believe I can get a lot of exciting challenges and varied work tasks. It is also a positive thing that the company is close to where I live and offers many great colleagues.

How did you hear about Omega? I have known about Omega for a while. It is an important cornerstone company in our local community.

Tobias Nygård Sætre (21)

Location: Ølensvåg.

Position: System engineer.

Background: Newly graduated computer engineer, University of Stavanger.

Why work in Omega? One of the things I noticed was that Omega is developing its own software, Pims, which I thought was very interesting. The welfare program Advantage, also looks like a very good program to take care of the employees.

Where did you hear about Omega? I first heard about Omega when I visited their booth during an ICT day at the university. I was very impressed with the interest they had for newly graduated students.

Alexandra Regina (26)

Location: I will soon start in Ølensvåg and will be relocated to Forus after a training period.

Position: System developer.

Background: I have an interest in both arts and technology. At the University of Agder I found the combination between design and IT that I had been looking for with the bachelors degree within Multimedia Technology and Design.

Why work in Omega? I recognized myself in the core values of Omega, and get the opportunity to work within technology with a goal of working with design, finding solutions and develop.

Anders Kregnes (27)

Location: Starting in Stavanger in July.

Position: System engineer.

Background: Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical, with specialization in automation technology at NTNU. Master's degree in robotics and signal processing at the University of Stavanger.

Why work in Omega? Omega is an exciting company that is affiliated with projects within my area of interest and subject area. I look forward to being a contributor and helping to develop existing and new solutions.

Location: I have training in Ølensvåg, but will eventually work in Stavanger.

Position: System developer.

Background: I have a bachelor's degree in geophysics and I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer engineering.

Why work in Omega? I was advised that Omega invested in graduates and I thought that my education in geophysics and computer technology could be relevant to a company with so many clients in the oil industry.

Where did you hear about Omega? One of my friends from school worked in Omega before and told me about the company.
