Hovden cabin – Nedre Hovdenut

This is a modern cabin with plenty of space for two families. The cabin is centrally located close to the Hovden Alpine Centre.

NB! No smoking. No pets

Please note that check-in is after 17:00, and check-out is at 12:00. If you are leaving on a Sunday and no one is booked after you, you may stay longer than the check-out time, as cleaning services arrive on weekdays. Firewood is stored in the garage.


  • There is space for 1–2 cars in the parking area by the cabin. In the winter season you must park one car at the entrance and one car outside the garage door


Plowing is carried out when there is more than 10 cm of fresh snowfall.

The surrounding area invites you to fantastic outdoor activities both in summer and winter. The area also offers an extensive network of marked hiking routes, and in winter, you are in close proximity to the hub for a variety of groomed ski tracks suitable for all ages.

At Hovden, you will discover countless activities throughout the year, including the Hegni outdoor area, Fjellvåken Shooting Center, fishing, and hiking trails. In winter, Hovden attracts skiers from near and far who want to experience over 132 km of groomed ski tracks! 

The Hovden Waterpark & Spa is open year-round, featuring both outdoor and indoor pools suitable for all ages.


  • Turn toward the ski center in the roundabout
  • Drive past the ski center`s parking lot and first road on the right (Hovdenuten)
  • Continue approximately 300 meters, and turn onto Gåttstøylstubben 12 (sharp left turn)
  • The cabin is located straight ahead (cabin number 2 on the right side of the road)
  • The cabin is not marked with Omega and neither number 12

During stay

The handle to turn on the water can be found in the cabinet by the hot water tank. Vertical means it is open. Remember to close it on departure. Then it should be horizontal.

Ventilation must not be touched.

All exterior doors are opened/locked by lifting the handle before opening or unlocking the doors. Find the key to the terrace door in the key cupboard in the hallway.

There is a wood-burning stove in the living room. The splints must be pulled out when starting the fire and when adding more wood. It`s recommended to have the door slightly open in the start. Be careful when opening the door to prevent smoke from entering the room.

On departure

  • Please leave the cabin tidy after your stay. Bring all garbage and empty containers. Empty the fridge and freezer for all food. Empty the dishwasher.
  • There is an environmental station about 200 - 300 m from the cabin (almost at the bottom of the road Nedre Hovdenut) where all cabins in the velvet deliver rubbish.
  • Clean the fridge, stove, and all other surfaces.
  • Our cleaners clean the apartment between guests. If they have to spend more than two hours, the extra cost will be charged to the employee.
  • Set the heating cables pm 20 degrees in the winter season and 15 degrees in the summer season.
  • Panel oven in the living rooms to 14 degrees.
  • Turn off the water by closing the tap in the cupboard by the water heater.
  • Ventilation must be on and is not to be touched.
  • Turn off all indoor lights, but leave all outdoor lights on.
  • Close and lock all doors and windows.
