The apartment

The area

• Located right in the heart of the old town
• Restaurants, cafes, shops and sights
• 5 minutes to walk to La Rambla
• 5 minutes to walk to Placa Catalunya
• 5-10 minutes to walk to Placa Reial
• 15-20 minutes to walk to the beach
• 25-30 minutes walking to Sagrada Familia (Church of the Holy Family)
• 45-50 minutes to walk to Parc Güell (Gaudi park)

Transportation

• It is easy to get from the airport to the apartment with a taxi. It takes about 15 minutes and costs around 30-40 Euro
• There are also Metro and buses, it is well signposted and many possibilities
• We do not recommend renting a car for short stays of a few days or a week in Barcelona. It is easiest and fastest to explore the city on foot, by Metro, bus or taxi. There are also mostly queues and no available parking either. Renting a car is recommended for shorter periods if you want to explore the cities a little outside Barcelona

Upon arrival

• It is important that you send arrival and departure times to our contact person in Barcelona Pam at Palm Solutions one week before you travel to Spain. Pam's phone number and email are received in a separate infomail from Omega about 7 days before departure
• Check-in is at 16:00 and check-out at 11:00. If you want to come earlier or stay a little longer, you can arrange this directly with Pam
• There is a personal check-in where you are met by Pam who gives you the key and explains how things work in the apartment

During the stay

• Barcelona is a very safe city even though it is big and attracts a lot of tourists. Violent crime is nothing to worry about, but pickpocketing is particularly prevalent in popular areas with large crowds, so be on your guard!
• The apartment is in a very old building in the old town and we ask that you respect the rules
  • No smoking, no pets and no use of candles
  • No parties, and it must be quiet after 11 p.m. Then it's time to explore the unique nightlife Barcelona has to offer with lots of bars, discos and nightclubs
• NB! There is a deadbolt on the outer door, so do not slam the door until you are absolutely sure you have the key with you. Should you be locked out, you must contact Pam yourself and make an agreement with her, and you must bear the cost of this yourself
• The doors to the French balconies must always be closed and locked when you are not in the apartment
• Do not leave the air conditioning on when the balcony doors are open and when you are not in the apartment. The container must be emptied daily if the air conditioning is in use
• Turn off all lights when you are not in the apartment
• The main tap for the water is outside the window in the bathroom
• Rubbish is placed outside the main door on the first floor after 18.00 every evening. There is no source sorting, so all waste goes in the same rubbish bag
• It is clean in the streets that are washed every evening/night and a very quiet and peaceful area, but you can always hear the life of the pulsating big city
• If you should be unlucky enough to break or destroy any of the furniture, a new one must be purchased. You must inform Omega 365 about this

Upon departure

• The apartment is cleaned by a cleaning agency, but leave the apartment tidy, as it was when you arrived
• Turn off the air conditioning
• Place used bed linen and towels on the floor
• Always leave a roll of dopair, drying roll, washing-up tablets etc. left for the next person
• Check that all balcony doors are locked
• Wash all surfaces and the fridge, freezer and stove
• Remove from the dishwasher and put everything back in place
• Remember to remove all rubbish when you travel
• Remember to turn off all lights
• NB! Leave the key on the dining table and close the door when you leave the apartment, check that the door is locked!
• Taxis do not need to be booked in advance to the airport, as you can easily get hold of a taxi in the main street "Via Laietana" directly below the apartment
