Poly Welder Leading Hand
Assignment Description
Position: Poly Welder Leading Hand (Poly piping & lining projects) working across the mining, civil & water projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a small team of 3 onsite
- General poly welding & mine site maintenance duties including:
- poly pipe fitting, fabrication & welding (Butt & EF)
- general mechanical equipment replacement / maintenance (i.e valves, flow meters, pipes etc)
- materials handling
- manual handling
- Comply with all Clients on-site specific Policies and Procedures
Skills & Competency Requirements
- High regard to safe work practices
- Current poly welding tickets (Butt, Extrusion and EF)
- Current Telehandler and / or IT loader & Forklift tickets
- Current Drivers licence
- Experience in Poly Welding within the mining, civil & water Industry (minimum 3 years)
- Experience Butt weld & electro-fusion welding of poly pipelines and fittings
- Experience with Dixon & McElroy welding machines
- Knowledge of pipe fitting, fabrication, welding, and installation processes
- Knowledge of QAQC practices with regards to poly welding
- Able to read & interpret drawings
- Easy to get along with and work well within a team environment
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- Able to pass a full medical / Drug and Alcohol Screen
Desirable Skills & Competency Requirements
- Dogman / Rigger ticket
- HC/ HR Licence
- Trade qualification (Mechanical Fitter / Pipe Fitter / Plumber)
- Experience Welding plastic sheet & fittings
- WHS awareness / supervisor training
