Estimator

Position: Estimator (Poly fabrication and construction) working across the mining, civil & water projects.   

Responsibilities:

• Site scoping
• Identify & estimate resources (labour, equipment, materials) to provide accurate cost estimates
• Draft & submit quotes and tenders
• Collect and follow up on quotes from suppliers
• Liaise with client & suppliers - keep informed
• Issue PO’s to suppliers & coordinate delivery of materials & equipment
• Track & Communicate status of ongoing works

 Skills & Competency Requirements 

• Experience in fabrication & civil construction (preferably Poly Welding within the mining, civil & water Industry)
• Working knowledge of piping & civil estimation, quotation & tender preparation  
• Can carry out detailed and accurate material quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantities
• Knowledge of pipe fitting, fabrication, welding, QA and installation processes
• Able to read & interpret RFQ, scope of work and engineering drawings
• Good communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and suppliers.
• High Attention to detail, accuracy & confidentiality
• Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities
• Easy to get along with and work well within a team environment
• Able to pass a full medical / Drug and Alcohol Screen
