Environmental Engineer

Assignment Description

  • Follow up TCM’s obligations described in the emission permit and national regulatory framework.
  • TCM’s contact point with the Environmental Regulators in Norway, and responsible for communicating planned activities and the risk associated with technology development.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for projects, operations, and activities, and make recommendations for mitigation measures.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs) to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on environmental issues, including waste management and pollution control.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance indicators, including emissions, waste generation, and energy consumption. Including regular follow-up of key plant gas analysers.
  • Follow up on quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with relevant quality management standards.
  • Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and projects.
  • Communicate with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders on environmental issues and initiatives.
  • Domestic and international traveling to be expected.
  • Regular presence at site required.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards applicable in Norway, including those related to emissions, waste management, and pollution control.
  • Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments, developing environmental management plans.
  • Understanding of monitoring technologies used in environmental management and quality assurance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Norwegian and English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in atmospheric chemistry and/or dispersion modelling.
