Accounts/Administrative Clerk

Job Location: Support, East Bank Demerara, Guyana

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle communication with vendors, clients, and internal departments.
  • Assist with inventory, and record maintenance
  • Sort documents, logs, reviews for accuracy matching supporting invoices to procurement documents and verify invoices for payment
  • Prepare routine entries and post financial transactions, reconcile entries and internal ledgers to Quick Books
  • Research processing problems, contact departments and vendors to resolve problems and expedite payment and respond to inquiries
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Follow up with clients on outstanding payments
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner by updating Quick Books
  • Enter key data of financial transactions daily into Quick Books
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
  • Answer telephones, open and log mails, meet and greet visitors, and assist in other clerical functions
  • Coordinate and complete all administrative duties as directed
  • Adhere to all ISO quality management system/ health safety & environmental procedures and forms as relevant to job specifications and operations
  • Any other duties assigned by the Managing Director


  • At least five (5) CXC subjects, inclusive of English and Mathematics (Grades 1 or 2)
  • Certificate program in Microsoft office
  • Certificate in CAT/ACCA Level 1
  • Certificate in Quick Books Accounting
  • Professional and courteous with strong computer skills and a thorough understanding financial principles
  • Skilled multi-user with excellent time management, and communication skills
  • Must be knowledgeable of accounting procedures and principles and have a commitment to behaving ethically in the workplace
