Executive Director
Overview:
The Executive Director role is a full‑time position within a not‑for‑profit organization. This role requires a strategic, dynamic and forward-thinking individual with the ability to foster team morale, drive program excellence, and build programs for Guyana’s future while ensuring long-term business continuity. The executive level candidate will possess deep knowledge of the local business environment, regulations, and economic trends. This expertise will guide the development and delivery of impactful programs that serve the community and support the organization’s strategic goals.
Qualifications Required:
Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Proven leadership experience, preferably within a not‑for‑profit or mission‑driven organization.
Strong knowledge of local regulatory frameworks, economic conditions, and industry dynamics.
Demonstrated ability to develop strategies, lead teams, and oversee organizational operations.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision‑making skills.
Experience in program development, project management, or community‑based initiatives is an advantage.
Leadership Experience Details:
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience, including building strategy, managing teams, budgets, and organizational projects.
Demonstrated success in motivating, mentoring, and developing staff, with a track record of building positive organizational culture.
Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, including board members, government agencies, private sector partners, and community groups.
Strong background in strategic planning, change management, guiding teams through growth, restructuring, or shifts in strategic direction.
Experience in risk management and business continuity planning, with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement proactive solutions.
Ability to make data‑informed decisions, communicate vision clearly, and drive operational excellence.
