Deckhand

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the safe vessel navigation, following captain's instructions.

• Handle lines, ropes, and cables during mooring and unmooring procedures.

• Deploy and recover lifeboats, rescue boats, and anchors.

• Perform maintenance tasks, including cleaning and painting the vessel’s exterior.

• Maintain deck equipment and assist in basic repairs under senior crew guidance.

• Participate in safety drills, including fire drills and abandon-ship procedures.

• Follow safety protocols and respond effectively to emergencies.

• Maintain a clean, hazard-free deck environment.

• Adhere to environmental regulations and proper waste disposal practices.

• Collaborate with the team and assist in watch-keeping and navigation tasks.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (maritime training is a plus).

• Physical fitness to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.

• Basic understanding of maritime safety procedures and regulations.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.

• Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills.

• STCW certification or other maritime endorsements may be required.
