HSE Officer
Responsibilities:
Development & implementation of QHSE systems with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
Promote HSE awareness through training, inductions, and communication.
Prepare QHSE documentation for projects and clients.
Conduct inspections, audits, and daily safety walk-throughs
Track QHSE KPIs, prepare reports, and support continuous improvement.
Promote a behaviour-based safety culture through observations and management inspections.
Participate in incident investigations and prepare reports.
Represent the company in QHSE regulatory meetings and committees.
Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions, and emergency drills.
Coordinate drug and alcohol testing per company policy.
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and legal regulations.
Report incidents immediately and follow all company QHSE policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
A degree, diploma or NEBOSH certificate in Health and Safety
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar field
Experience in marine boat-building industry/automotive industry would be an asset
Strong quality and safety management skills
Strong people management skills and people-oriented
ISO 9001/ISO 45001 certificate training
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Knowledge of Guyana Labor laws.
Take initiative and always act professionally and ethically.
Represent in a courteous, helpful, and business-like manner when conducting duties
Maintain an uncompromised level of confidentiality and high integrity
Adhere to and encourage adherence to all corporate policies and procedures.
Lead by example, be friendly and helpful and communicate with all staff effectively and promptly to avoid risk and accidents.
