Data Scientist - IT

NSB Omega is searching for a Data Scientist four our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB. 

Assignment Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with IT and business units to identify and prioritize data-driven use cases.

• Design, develop, and deploy predictive models and analytical solutions using Python, R, SQL, and enterprise data tools.

• Partner with data engineers and IT architects to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable analytics solutions within existing infrastructure.

• Analyze data from ERP systems (e.g., SAP), field devices, and operational technology (OT) platforms.

• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI or Tableau.

• Ensure data governance, integrity, and security compliance in all analytics workflows.

• Support cloud analytics strategy and model deployment on platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

• 3+ years of data science experience within IT organizations or in tech/data roles supporting heavy industry.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy).

• Experience working with enterprise IT systems, databases, and cloud-based data platforms.

• Familiarity with ML model lifecycle management and MLOps concepts.

• Strong understanding of data integration, APIs, and automation.
