Assignment Description

Role Purpose:

Monitors contractor’s performance and makes sure that structural and piping construction and applicable welding activities are safely and timely carried out in accordance with specifications and regulations in the contract.
Shall identify and report deviations from the agreed scope of work and schedule, and where required, suggests remedial action/s as required during the execution phase.

Accountabilities:

• Be an HSSE ambassador. Ensuring that HSSE procedures are adhered to, and proactively strive for good HSSE and quality performance throughout the work.
• Participates in the daily tool-box meetings and Safety Meetings
• Proactively assist Contractor in resolving structural and piping construction and welding quality related technical issues that may arise during the execution of work scopes onsite.
• Liaises with the Construction Structural and Piping Field Engineer/s and ensures that the SRU and TEG Modules are constructed as per project design and Company Requirements
• Where required, reviews and comments on structural and piping ITP, attends and verify, and sign off applicable established inspection points on behalf of the Company.
• Monitors and attend Mechanical Completion activities for the structural and piping disciplines (MCCR / PIMS related)
• Seeks for continuous improvement of work processes and products within own responsibility area.
• Liaises with relevant disciplines with regards to interdisciplinary interfaces and releases, NDE, dimensional control, mechanical, piping, coatings, etc.
• Daily and weekly reporting to QC Lead on ongoing activities.
• Contribute to Lessons Learned, experience transfer and Close Out Report
•  Progressively reviews relevant documents, reports and records (specifications, procedures, drawings, material, welding, NDE, dimensional, traceability, etc.) and formally report on noted discrepancies or deviations.
• Where required, carry out and report on assigned surveillance audits on identified structural, piping or welding elements.
• Participates on Contractor scheduled yard Quality Walks and report any observations, where applicable.
• Follows up and verifies closure of issues (PARs, CARs, NCRs, etc) and any continues improvement initiatives in the yard.

Qualifications

• Theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of Structural and Piping Design and Fabrication.
• Knowledge of applicable project documents, industry procedures and guidelines, recommended practices, codes, standards, and specifications.
• Proficient in MS Office, experience in use PIMS and Navisworks is an advantage.
• Experience from working in SE Asia, and in Batam in particular, is an advantage.

Educational Qualifications:

• Minimum certification to CSWIP 3.1. 
• Relevant engineering degree, proficiency and certification to any NDE method will be an advantage. Relevant experience from similar positions in other oil & gas projects may make up for formal education.
• Minimum 10 years relevant experience from oil and gas projects.
