Project Safety Consultant

Omega is a leading supplier of innovative software systems and project personnel to the mining, oil & gas and energy sectors and is currently assisting our client in identifying a Project Safety Advisor for a project located in Alexandria.

The Opportunity

As a Project Safety Advisor, you will be working within the Project QHSE Team, offering expertise and advice to enhance the success of this crucial project within our business. This role will work closely with the Project HSE Manager and Project Manager and broadly within the greater project team.

You will actively drive the health and safety culture on site while providing support and coordination of HSE practices, systems, and procedures on the project

  • Initial 6-8 weeks contract with potential for ongoing work
  • Infrastructure Project
  • Based in Alexandria
  • Day Shift

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing processes, implementing, and monitoring programs to provide a safe working environment for all personnel
  • Conducting health and safety audits and inspections
  • Monitoring safety and health performance and ensuring compliance with safety and health policy, procedures, and legislative requirements
  • Facilitating and coordinating relevant safety meetings for project team members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and leading incident investigations to determine causes and mitigating and preventative measures.

Key Requirements:

  • Formal qualifications in Health and Safety
  • Construction White Card
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years in a site based HSE role within construction or maintenance
  • Gas test Atmosphere and Confined Space Entry would be highly advantageous
