Opening of Suldal Nursing Home
On Wednesday, 7 May, the new Suldal Nursing Home officially opened its doors. With 38 beds and modern facilities, the building is designed to provide safety, dignity, and quality of life for people living with dementia and other somatic illnesses. Omega 365 Areal has played a key role in the development of the project.

Beautifully situated overlooking the Sandsfjord, the nursing home has been designed with a focus on security, independence, and activity. The facility includes 38 long-term care units, a day center, kitchen, and a laundry service.
Omega 365 Areal has been deeply involved in every stage of the project – from the initial feasibility studies, through detailed design, to on-site follow-up during construction.
“Our involvement from an early stage made it possible to identify challenges early on and contribute to a solid and predictable project foundation that reduces the risk of budget overruns and improves quality," says civil engineer Sindre Tjøstheim from Omega 365 Areal.
A key goal has been to create an environment that supports orientation, calmness, and sensory stimulation for residents with dementia. With bright atriums and green outdoor spaces, the building invites both community interaction and peaceful retreats.
"The building is also technically equipped for the future – it could probably be described as Norway's most modern nursing home," says Tjøstheim.
With the opening of Suldal Nursing Home, the municipality has gained an important addition to its healthcare services – a facility that promotes dignity, activity, and community in elderly care.
"It is incredibly rewarding to stand at the opening of a building you've helped shape from the very beginning – and to see the vision become reality," he adds.
