Tom joins Omega 365 from Microsoft, where he spent four years leading large-scale project controls implementations, including the internal rollout of the Omega 365 system. With more than 20 years of experience from companies such as Shell, Chevron, and Microsoft, he brings strong industry knowledge combined with valuable client-side insight.
“After 20 years in project controls, I wanted a role that allows me to leverage my experience with the opportunity to provide meaningful impact,” says Tom. “While at Microsoft, I led the rollout of Omega 365 internally and saw firsthand how it improved predictability and matured capabilities moving teams from reactive to proactive.”
Tom says the move to Omega 365 is a natural next step, shifting from a customer's role to helping others achieve the same clarity and results; he says the timing, leadership, and product momentum made Omega 365 an obvious choice.
Further expanding the data center segment
In his new role, Tom will focus on developing the data center segment, working with owner-operators, hyperscalers, and EPCs to support the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects.
“I will be focused on helping data center organizations who experience the challenges of megaprojects delivery firsthand, from project controls leads to digital transformation heads, and C-suite executives accountable for major investments,” he says.
“My approach is simple. I will listen to their challenges, share insights from 20 years of experience using and implementing project management technologies, and show why Omega 365 will shift their delivery from survival to success. Omega 365 is by far the most complete project management solution available, allowing us to empower the builders of AI to leverage Omega’s advanced AI capabilities to deliver their own portfolio.”
According to Øyvind Vik, President of Omega 365 USA, success in today’s data center projects comes down to execution discipline at scale.
“What we’ve seen from our existing data center clients as well as the market in general, is that the pace and scale of these projects put real pressure on planning and execution. We bring the tools and experience that the owners, hyperscalers, and partners need to bring the data center capacity online,” he says.
“I’m excited to have Tom join my team. The data center market is a key segment for Omega 365, and Tom brings a proven track record from complex project environments. He will work closely with clients to strengthen planning and execution capabilities to support more structured, predictable delivery”.
A growing market with increasing complexity
The appointment comes at a time of strong growth in the global data center market, driven by rising demand for AI, and digital infrastructure.
“The data center market is expanding rapidly, with global construction spending projected to grow significantly in the coming years,” says Tom. “These projects are becoming increasingly interconnected, requiring tighter coordination and better visibility across teams.”
Tom brings a practical, experience-based industry perspective into his new role.
“Having implemented Omega 365 at Microsoft, what stood out was how quickly it can deliver value,” he says. “What also made an impression was the collaboration with the Omega team. They were unbelievably responsive, super knowledgeable subject matter experts, focused on working with clients on their specific challenges, and worked as true partners. That is a key reason why I joined Omega.”
Tom sees strong potential for Omega 365 to improve how data centers are delivered.
“Data center capital construction today is the most intense capital program being built,” he says. “Success depends on identifying risks early, improving collaboration, and giving teams clear, timely insight throughout the entire project lifecycle.”
“Omega 365 supports this by bringing data and workflows together, helping teams leverage AI to anticipate challenges earlier and act with better insight. The results are better alignment, fewer inefficiencies, and more predictable outcomes,” says Tom.
