Helse Sør-Øst expands rollout of Omega 365 platform

Helse Sør-Øst RHF, one of Norway’s four regional health authorities responsible for specialist healthcare services, has approved the expanded rollout of the Omega 365 digital property management platform. The decision moves implementation beyond initial pilot locations in Drammen and at Radiumhospitalet in Oslo.

The rollout in Helse Sør-Øst forms part of a wider national initiative to establish a shared digital foundation for hospital property management in Norway.

The approval enables scaling from approximately 250,000 square meters to the remaining portfolio of around 2.8 million square meters of hospital buildings, including clinical facilities, support areas, and technical infrastructure across the region.

The decision represents an important regional milestone within a national collaboration where Omega 365 provides a shared digital platform for Norway’s hospital sector.

From pilot to large-scale implementation

Until now, the implementation in Helse Sør-Øst has consisted of two pilot locations: the new hospital in Drammen and Radiumhospitalet in Oslo. Together, these sites cover approximately 250,000 square meters and have served as the foundation for establishing structures, processes, and ways of working.

The recent approval allows the region to continue rollout across its remaining hospital building portfolio, estimated at around 2.8 million square meters. Andreas Berge Thormodsrud, Department Manager at Omega 365 Software in Oslo, says the move from pilot to broader implementation reflects confidence in both the established way of working and the solution.

“Scaling from pilot to regional rollout is an important milestone. It confirms that a common digital foundation creates value in practice and supports more predictable operations over time,” says Berge Thormodsrud.

Part of a national framework

The rollout in Helse Sør-Øst forms part of a wider national initiative to establish a shared digital foundation for hospital property management in Norway. A national procurement process resulted in a framework agreement between Sykehusbygg HF, which coordinates hospital construction and property development, and Omega 365 as the system supplier.

Omega 365 provides the platform used to manage documentation, assets, and maintenance across projects and operations. By consolidating information previously handled in separate systems, the solution supports structured planning, operational follow-up, and lifecycle management of hospital buildings.

For Helse Sør-Øst, the expanded rollout means moving from local pilot use to a more standardized regional setup. Working within a shared structure improves visibility into assets and maintenance needs, strengthens coordination across organizations, and provides a more robust basis for long-term operational decisions.
