After 18 years of leading the Advantage program, Aslaug Østrem Nesheim is stepping aside to take on new challenges.

“When I first started, I didn’t even know what the Advantage program was,” Nesheim says with a laugh.

She joined Omega 365 in 2006, starting in payroll and billing. A few months into the role, she was tasked with developing a welfare program for team members. The goal was clear: to ensure equal access to benefits across the company. Despite limited experience in event planning, she embraced the challenge.

“Something about the idea intrigued me. I thought, ‘This could be interesting.’ Since then, Advantage has felt like my baby. I’m so thankful to those who trusted me with this responsibility—it’s been quite the journey. Letting go feels right, though. The new team has been handling it for a while, so I know it’s in good hands,” she explains.

Going forward, the Advantage program will be managed by Ingrid Westergaard Døske, Yvonne Sandgren, and Linda Hesthammer Johannesen.

“It’s good to have fresh ideas and new perspectives. The program is in great hands,” Nesheim adds.

Ingrid Westergaard Døske, Yvonne Sandgren, and Linda Hesthammer Johannesen will now lead the Advantage-program.

A love for systems

Nesheim’s knack for organization and planning played a key role in her success with Advantage.

“Our goal was to create a fair system where everyone, whether working off-site or at Omega’s offices, had equal access to benefits like cabin bookings,” she says.

This vision led to the creation of a points-based system. Team members earned points for every month they worked and could gain additional points by logging activities in the Exercise Log

“When we first started, not many people knew about the program, but it’s grown so much over the years. These days, it’s something a lot of people use, and it’s even become a valuable recruitment tool,” she notes.

Expanding the program

Nesheim immersed herself in her role, starting by learning the rules and regulations for cabin rentals and company events.

“We wanted to offer a variety of opportunities, from small local events to larger trips. It started with concerts, holiday houses, and teambuilding events, and it just kept expanding,” she explains.

Today, Omega 365 offers 27 Holiday Houses for team members in Norway and abroad. In 2025, colleagues can choose from 43 Team Events, including concerts and dinners in Stavanger, Oslo, and Houston, as well as Teambuildings to destinations like Berlin, Kent, and Lucca, providing opportunities for learning and growth. Advantage points can also be used for training courses to support professional development.

Aslaug Østrem Nesheim has great confidence that the new Advantage team will do an excellent job.

New challenges ahead

Nesheim now serves as the Team Leader for Omega 365 Consulting’s Bergen team while also holding the position of Department Manager at the Service Center. In this role, she supports department managers with tasks such as updating CVs, posting job advertisements, and addressing sales and service challenges.

“Stepping away from Advantage felt like the right choice, but I’ve loved working on it. I’ll still be here as an advisor if needed—and I hope they’ll reach out now and then,” she says.

While much of her early work with Advantage involved visiting destinations in person, most planning now takes place remotely. For Nesheim, the shift hasn’t diminished the fulfillment she finds in her work.

Reflecting on her time at Omega 365, she expresses deep gratitude for her role.

“I love my job and can’t imagine working anywhere else. The tasks are challenging, and my colleagues are fantastic,” she says.

Although she plans to slow down a bit, her enthusiasm for creating efficient systems remains unchanged.

“I’m focused on developing efficient systems to ensure smooth collaboration between the Service Center and the rest of the organization. We’re also hiring to continually improve our work; this year alone, we’ve added eight new names to the team,” Nesheim say

Many questions over the years

Sustainability has also become a key consideration in the Advantage program.

“Offering shared cabins is more sustainable than everyone owning their own. That said, there’s always room for improvements to better align with sustainability goals,” she reflects.

Over the years, Nesheim has fielded a variety of questions about Advantage, from “How do I turn on the water at the cabin?” to “Where does the taxi leave from?.”

“I’ve always enjoyed helping, but it will probably be a bit quieter now. At times, it felt like running a SOS hotline,” she says with a laugh.

As she looks ahead, Nesheim is excited to spend more time with her grandchildren and embrace her love for the outdoors.

“I love the mountains. Who knows? Maybe this will even give me a chance to travel more,” she says with a smile.
